Vital Signs #118: MATTER Partners with Healthios
MATTER Partners with Chicago-Based Healthios to Drive Funding for Healthcare Startups
When fundraising, a ‘maybe’ from an investor can handicap a startup; that indecisiveness can bleed harmfully into execution. For healthcare startups - when so many early resources need to be allocated to clinical trials, inspections, and legal consultations - a 'maybe' can prove fatal.
In an effort to minimize these 'maybe' situations, MATTER - the city's highly-anticipated hub for MedTech and healthcare entrepreneurs - is announcing a partnership with Chicago-based Healthios.
Headquartered in Northbrook, Healthios is an investment bank that's dedicated entirely to the healthcare industry. Its flagship product, HealthiosXchange, is a crowdsourcing marketplace for private equity in the health industry, connecting curated VCs, strategic investors, and foundations to healthcare startups. Since the 2013 launch of this platform, the company has raised over $300 million in capital for established and emerging companies in the space.
Through this new agreement, Healthios will provide MATTER members with free access to the platform, which includes perks such as brand advertising, market analyses and Xchange community access. This means that MATTER startups gain not only strategic advising, but also an immediate audience of interested healthcare investors, diminishing the time spent negotiating with ‘maybes.’
